Microscopic nanobots designed to repair tissues and fight diseases

Medical nanotechnology repairing the body from within

Medical nanotechnology is taking medicine to molecular dimensions, with nanobots that can navigate our bloodstream to perform precise repairs at the cellular level.

These biomedical nanorobots, measuring just 50-100 nanometers in size, are being developed for multiple therapeutic applications:

  • Selective destruction of cancer cells without affecting healthy tissue
  • Repair of blocked arteries through controlled micro-perforations
  • Targeted drug delivery directly to specific organs
  • Repair of neuronal damage at the synaptic level

A prominent example is the DNA nanobots developed by Harvard researchers, which are programmed to recognize specific proteins on diseased cells and release drugs only at those sites. This drastically reduces side effects and increases treatment efficacy.

It is estimated that by 2030, these nanobots could be performing routine microscopic surgeries inside the human body.
